About Us

NSW Trustee & Guardian commenced operations on 1 July 2009 merging the Public Trustee NSW and the Office of the Protective Commissioner. NSW Trustee & Guardian's role is to act as an independent and impartial Executor, Administrator, Attorney and Trustee for the people of NSW. It also provides direct financial management services and authorisation and direction to private financial managers.

We have a network of branches and regularly hold plan ahead days at local community venues across NSW. There is an agent for NSW Trustee & Guardian at every Local Court in NSW. Service NSW Centres also offer information on our services.

NSW Trustee & Guardian supports the Public Guardian, which is a statutory officer under the Guardianship Act 1987. The Public Guardian operates independently but reports administratively to the Chief Executive Officer of NSW Trustee & Guardian.
