Direct financial management
NSW Trustee & Guardian provides financial management services to people who have a disability that affects their capacity to make decisions. This may be due to mental illness, brain injury, intellectual disability, dementia or other disabilities. When we make financial decisions on behalf of others we consider the overall best interests of the person. We take into account a person’s:
- immediate and long term needs
- income, available assets
- family commitments
- previous lifestyle.
We also carefully consider the views of the person, their family and other people important in their life in the decision making process.
