Michelle Batterham

Michelle joined NSW Trustee and Guardian in June 2018. She is passionate about leading teams to drive policies and systems change that benefits the people of NSW.
As Director, Strategy, People and Governance, Michelle leads NSW Trustee and Guardian’s policy and strategy agenda, as well as key corporate services.
She is responsible for policy, change and continuous improvement, audit, risk and compliance, and people and culture.
"The opportunity at NSW Trustee and Guardian really resonated with me to support people with disability or elderly people who often can’t advocate for themselves. I get a lot of satisfaction seeing strategies or policies being implemented across the organisation that really help our clients."
Michelle has approximately 25 years’ experience in public policy, strategy, programs and projects in government and health agencies.
Before joining NSW Trustee and Guardian, Michelle worked for the former NSW Department of Justice leading major projects and reform in Executive Director and Policy Director roles.
Michelle’s strengths in developing strategies and effective implementation has seen her hold executive roles in ministerial and parliamentary support, policy and legislative development, projects governance and change management.
Michelle's background includes the state government portfolios of ageing and disability, transport, local government, law enforcement and emergency management.
Michelle volunteers for her local little athletics club and enjoys helping kids achieve their sporting goals.
